So where have I been?

*ahem* Heh, heh. Looking over my blog, it’s obvious even to me, the queen of denial, that I’ve shown you very little crochet lately. So I’ll come clean and tell you I’ve had three patterns accepted for a new crochet book that will be published next year. I was trying to keep it a big secret, but it’s been eating up so much of my crochet time I have little else to write about. Of course, I’ll keep on blogging, but if you find yourself wondering why I’ve only produced half of a Christmas stocking in the past two weeks, you’ll know why. :D

I am writing the patterns as well as crocheting the projects, which I will send in to be photographed for the book. They’re due by Thanksgiving, so wish me luck!

Here’s a little sneak preview:

I’ve also promised Kim a tutorial for Crochet me, so I’d better get movin’!

Once you can, let us know the title of the book. I’ll buy it just because your patterns are in it!

Congratulations! I’ve been crocheting for years and I know it takes a certain kind of skill to design. I don’t have it but I admire those who do. Excellent!

PS – your “preview” looks WONDERFUL – a shawl maybe? I’m just guessing even if you didn’t say I could. ;-)

Oh, Donna, how exciting! That must be so much fun to actually have patterns accepted for a book! I’m so happy for you…keep up the good work and don’t worry about the blogging, although we love hearing from you. :o)

    Re: Crocheted Shawl

I was that you had “on my(your) mind.” the crocheted shawl. I am working that right now in Red Heart Fiesta with a G hook. It is coming out wonderfully. It is being purchased by a friend for her sisters birthday. It is quick and lots of fun with the variation and easy pattern. If you want to use thicker yarn and larger hook remember to chain less, as I am sure you know. I forgot to pay that close attention and it was super long. I have it at a good length now (close to what the pattern states.) Enjoy and have a great day! Congrats on the designs. Can you provide us with the name(s) of the magazines/books that your designs will be in…when you can! I look forward to seeing your work.

Thank you everybody for the well wishes!

By the way, the crocheted shawl Heather just mentioned in her comment is “On My Mind” in my sidebar. You can find the pattern at The Smart Yarns. Some day I will finally get around do doing that one! ;)

Woo hoo! That’s great. I think I’d be afraid of that (if I COULD design, lol) cutting into my Christmas gift making panic time…LOL
