Sawdust and Glass Heads

While in California for a friend’s wedding last weekend, we went to the Sawdust Art Festival, a must-do, they say, when visitng Laguna Beach. I was pleasantly surprised to see a crochet exhibitor there.

We didn’t have time to stay long, but ejoyed the art, crafts, food, and atmosphere. It’s held in a 3-acre outdoor setting, under the shade of 100-year old eucalyptus trees.

You may wonder how I got these photos without anyone standing in front of the booth. Luck and perseverance.

After seeing so many heads on other blogs lately–styrofoam, glass, wicker–I decided they are darn useful little things and popped out to Pier 1 to get one for myself. Even better, it’s made of recycled glass. And get this: it’s dishwasher safe. Alright, now I just need to make a hat.

How are you ever going to decide which hat to make first?!

I rather want a glass head myself. Not that I have anyplace to put it, mind you. ;)

ooh! the Sawdust Arts Fest! one of my favorite finds when I was in Costa Mesa on business 2 years ago! I saw the same crochet booth and was wearing my knitty.com “I’d rather be knitting” tshirt, which she got a kick out of. :)
