Chevron finally done!

square #8 of 63: chevron

I can’t believe it’s been seven weeks since I last completed a square on the 63 Squares CAL. Why the hiatus? The culprit was number eight, the chevron square. Frustrated, I put it aside, and the time slipped by. All the while, the half-completed chevron staring me down.

I’ve read that when you stop actively thinking about a problem your’re trying to solve, your brain subconsciously keeps working on it, which is why the answer often seems so apparent when you return to it. That must have been the case with this square, because I finally sat down to it yesterday, and it turned out beautifully.

I had been doing the front post double crochet incorrectly. I suppose I should have read the instructions carefully rather than assuming I knew how to do it. In the second step you are supposed to yarn over and pull up a loop even with the last stitch worked; I was just pulling up a loop normally.

I used a size I hook for this square.

Ahhhhhhhhhh I was working on that afghan but it was a dismal failure. It came out all wonky. I eventually ended it early, turned it on its side, and donated it to charity. I’m just glad I don’t have to look at mine anymore, better luck on yours, mwahahahaha

I’m still not satisfied with this square. I’ve ripped it out three times!

Kudos on getting #8 completed! I sometimes come up with solutions to problems in my dreams while sleeping.

Yay!! The dreaded #8 is done. Now you can start working toward the dreaded #11.
